Allan ‘Judah’ Lewis, Drummer and Musician - 2007

 

 

Background

 

Judah is from the Caribbean, and has lived in Europe and Africa for many years. He was taught by the master drummer Musa Suma from Guinea, and has been influenced by the Shango drummers and the Caribbean styles of reggae, calypso and soca.

 


Workshops & Educational projects

Judah runs workshops for children and adult beginners in djembe drumming. He also does educational projects in schools and after school clubs. He has taught music workshops at Henshaws Society for the Blind for three years. Judah has wide experience of working with disabled groups, either working towards a performance, a recording, or as a form of therapy.

 Judah also does community events and festivals.

 

Judah can do individual sessions, single workshops or run a programme of sessions. Judah is based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, but is available to travel to your project. Terms can be negotiated.
